Presenter - Father Mark Pranaitis, CM

Mark Pranaitis is a Vincentian priest, ordained in 1993 after completing his studies and formation at the former St. Thomas Theological Seminary in Denver. Over the last 30 years he has served in parishes (twice), provincial administration (twice), as the fundraiser for a diocese, in university administration (twice), and for several Catholic associations and service agencies. During seminary he started Neighborhood Partners, a developer of houses sold to working-poor families in the Cole neighborhood of Denver. His current ministry has him raising funds for Vincentian mission projects in the 25 poorest provinces in his community (most of them are in the global south). He also is responsible for raising 30 million euro to renovate the Vincentian Maison Mère in Paris where he lives and works half-time. When not in Paris, he is based in Chicago. Fundraising comes naturally to him since generosity is his favorite virtue—so much so that he wrote his doctoral dissertation on organizational generosity.

Mark is the younger of two sons of the late Florence and Tony Pranaitis. His brother, Tony is a chiropractor in suburban Denver where he and his wife, Nancy, raised their three children and now welcome their nine grandchildren. Of all the titles he has, “Uncle Mark” is his favorite.
