“Grandparents” and Grandchildren Healing the World
In preparation for the 2nd World Day for Grandparents and Elders
Saturday, July 16, 2022 | 9:00–10:30 a.m. Mountain Time (check your time zone)
Registration closes July 9th
No Charge | Free-will offerings welcome
Engaged Grandparents have a great deal to offer grandchildren. They are natural models of important values, reliable mentors during times of challenge and irreplaceable memory-makers. Research shows that strong elder-youth relationships encourage resiliency, foster emotional and spiritual health and can be an important deterrent against drug use, suicide, and violence. These relationships are mutually beneficial and have a ripple effect, bringing healing to the community.
Our time together will include prayer meditation, presentation, individual reflection, small group sharing, wrap up and take-away materials. Whether the young people you care about are two or twenty-two, whether they live nearby or far away, whether you are a grandparent, “honorary grandparent,” or an elder concerned for younger generations, we hope you will join us.

Post a Tribute
Beginning in mid-June and running throughout the summer, either with your grandchildren or separately, you are invited to post a tribute online. You’ll be prompted to submit a tribute during the checkout process when you register below. You can also submit additional tributes using the form at the bottom of this page. To consider for your tribute: What do you appreciate most about the young people in your life? Young people, what do you value most about elders who support and care about you?
