Colorado Gives Day 2020
December 8, 2020
This year, your contribution is more important than ever! We hope you will ensure the continuation of our mentoring services to the most abandoned and to the formation and training of volunteers for service.
Donating online through Colorado Gives on December 8 gives us access to an additional incentive fund which makes your donation go even further. We recommended you schedule your donation in advance to be processed on December 8.
We can change lives (including ours!)
There's a variety of ways you can get involved. Whether volunteering, donating funds, working "behind the scenes" on a committee, or even simply using GoodSearch for searching Amazon Smile for shopping on the web, and connecting your Kingsoopers card to our charity, your work can help further the Restoring Connections mission: uniting diverse people for spiritual transformation and social justice.
Explore our Making Choices mentoring program, Re-entry trainings and opprotunities to volunteer, or our Spiritual Direction and Soul Care programs that addresses emotional and spiritual needs.

how to help during COVID-19:
The IRS has provided significant incentives for donors to support the fight against COVID-19. In the CARES (Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security) Act, the following changes may be of interest to our donors when deciding how best to support nonprofits during the 2020 calendar year:
- Individual taxpayers may deduct up to 100% of their AGI for cash contributions to public charities. This is a substantial increase from the previous rate of 60% of AGI, and excess contributions can be carried over for the next five years.
- Corporate taxpayers may deduct up to 25% of their AGI for cash contributions to public charities, a substantial increase from the previous rate of 10%.
- The 30% AGI limit for contributions of long-term appreciated securities remains unchanged, both public or private. Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) of up to $100k from retirement accounts are still permitted.
- All taxpayers who do not file an itemized tax return may take an above-the-line charitable income tax deduction for contributions up to $300. This option is available regardless of Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). This may be a one-time gift of $300 or multiple charitable contributions totalling $300.
These provisions are limited to the 2020 tax year, apply only to cash gifts (not those of appreciated securities), and do not include gifts to donor advised funds, private foundations, or supporting organizations. However, direct grants to nonprofit organizations do qualify.
Please help support our work during this difficult time. Donate HERE through our Colorado Gives portal.
